A fabulous proposal in Mauritius

A huge congratulations to our amazing customers Chris and Liv as they got engaged whilst in Mauritius!

The lovely couple first met when they were 15 years old as they had the same friendship group when they were younger. They then started dating when they were 17 and stayed together for 4 years in a long distance relationship whilst at university but parted ways when Liv moved abroad. Moving forward to 2018, they bumped into each other and been together ever since!

Tell us about your proposal! Where was it and how did you feel?

The proposal was a complete surprise! Chris hid it well, he was being extra nice but I thought it was due to us going on holiday and being extra excited together, so I didn't suspect anything. Chris said it was nerve racking going through security with an engagement ring and hiding it from me. He said he has visions of proposing in Manchester airport if security pulled him. Thankfully we landed in Mauritius okay. Chris had planned a romantic meal a few days into the holiday, however the weather didn't go to plan. He proposed the night we arrived in Mauritius, on the beach as the sun was setting with a cocktail in hand. It was the biggest shock of my life, I wasn't expecting it and was in utter shock for a few minutes.

 Chris chose a stunning ring for Liv! It's a gorgeous pear cut diamond in the centre with diamonds on the shoulders and a halo of diamonds set into platinum- how stunning

Liv, tell us about your ring! Did Chris choose well?

Chris picked the perfect ring for me, it fit perfectly and it's definitely a style that I would've picked myself

How did you feel when coming into Wongs for the aftercare of your gorgeous ring?

Chris surprised me by booking us in for an aftercare bridal appointment once we arrived home to make sure that the ring fit perfectly and to get the ring engraved. The true Wongs experience has made it extra special, from the staff, to the workshop, to the engraving and the bridal box. We've had so much fun every time we're in store and the store is now my happy place

We have loved having you both in-store and look forward to many more visits for ring cleans and wedding rings!

Is there any piece of advice you can share for somebody that is thinking about proposing?

Expect things to not always go to plan, but as long as the engagement is special and meaningful for you both it'll be perfect.

And lastly, have you began any wedding planning? Or are you enjoying being on Cloud 9 for now?

We're enjoing being on cloud 9 for now, we've started to discuss it but we're not sure what we want yet, so we're keeping all of our options open!
