A real life love story with Jessica and Billy

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Beresford!

The gorgeous couple said 'I do!' this September

They first met through Jessica's sister who went to University in Sheffield which is where Billy is from! Billy followed Jess on Instagram and a year later Jess messaged Billy on the 1st January 2020. He asked her for film recommendations and Jess loves films so sent a couple over which was the start of endless chats- they first met after a month of chatting and the rest is history

Tell us about your engagement, what was it like? How did you feel?

Our engagement story is my favourite- we do visits to Ibiza every year, one with our little boy, Theo, and one with the two of us as a couples trip. In 2023, we had our annual Ibiza trip and the agenda was set which Billy always sorts. There was one day (Thursday 24th August) which he told me we were going out for food and to get something nice to wear, I didn't think much of it as it isn't out of the ordinary for Billy to organise special dates. Billy took me to the most amazing restaurant on the mountains in Ibiza overlooking the sea, we had our own private dining Tipi with a runway and candles lighting it up, it was beautiful. He popped the question after the starter as he said he couldn't eat his food as he was so nervous- it was the most memorable evening.

There are probably so many, however what is your favourite memory from your wedding day?

My favourite moment from our wedding day has to be walking down the aisle, the adrenaline rush you get from walking into that room with your dress on and seeing the love of your life waiting for you can't be matched, I walked down the aisle with my dad and it was such a special moment to share with him, it was so emotional- I felt like all of the preparation running up to the wedding just felt so worth it, waiting to go into that room and I just took every moment in.

What a special memory for you both! You looked absolutely beautiful

Are there any of your favourite wedding suppliers that you used on your wedding day which you would recommend to our newly engaged couples looking to plan their wedding day?

I LOVED all of my suppliers, they honestly were perfect. The effort they all put into our special day to make everything look perfect was unreal, a couple of them were

Do you have any pieces of advice that you could share with us from your wedding day?

A piece of advice that I would like to share with newly engaged couples is enjoy the preparation, we are both quite easy going, especially me, and everybody kept saying how relaxed of a bride I was! I think I looked at my wedding as a huge celebration of our love with my best friends, family & of course the absolute love of my life- and as long as they were all there then it would be amazing. Don't put too much pressure on yourself for perfection, perfection is found in so many different ways and every wedding is perfect. We did most of the wedding preparation together and it was so nice to have a laugh while we were doing it (don't get me wrong we nearly killed each other a few times) but we both got to see the vision coming to life and it split the responsibilities too.

Amazing! It sounds like you had a lovely time preparing for your wedding together

I'd also love to know, how did you find your experience when finding your perfect wedding rings?

We loved selecting our wedding rings, Billy got my engagement ring from Wong- I was so specific where I wanted my engagement ring from, and he picked the most gorgeous ring with the help of Jenifer. We both knew we wanted our wedding ring from Wongs too, so went and met with Daisy. She spent so much time going through the different options, we had a specific image in our heads, simple and timeless and Wongs delivered both! We collected the rings from Zara and she was so lovely, the customer service was second to none and they really did bring the vision to life. The experience just made us even more excited for the wedding.

We would just like to say to anybody getting married, that it's the most beautiful thing, make it yours, I think stay true to who you are and give the wedding personality. Don't be fooled with trends and what others are doing , if it's not you then don't do it. I made sure the wedding was true to us and how we are outside of a wedding day, the music, the decor, the dresses, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen- the list just goes on. Every bit of our wedding screamed Jessica & Billy. The wedding day is just the very first pages of your brand new chapter so make sure it fits in your book.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely story Jessica & Billy! We are so grateful for your kind words. We wish you both lots of love, happiness and a perfect future together
