Real life love stories: Alan and Kesiena
A Lake District Wedding
By Hannah Wiggins, July 2022
We would love to know when did you first meet, how did your love story begin?
Alan and I first met on Tinder! At the time it was a slightly controversial way to find “the love of your life” but it worked for us. Unknowingly we both met at quite difficult times in our lives when we were going through a lot but, we always say the timing was absolutely perfect for us both. We met for our first date on my birthday too which was lovely and a totally spare of the moment date.
It certainly has worked out for you both - such a gorgeous couple! We’d love to hear your engagement story?
We got engaged two years to the day we met and on my birthday. Alan had spoiled me for my birthday and took us to Manchester to the Lowry Hotel where we had a spa day followed by a meal in Australasia. It was during the meal we just had such a gorgeous heartfelt conversation about how we met two years to the day and the next thing I new Alan asked me to marry him. It was such a lovely experience and I just felt so lucky that he wanted ME to be his wife.
We can only imagine that there must be hundreds, but what is your favourite moment from your wedding day?
My favourite moment from our big day was us sneaking off after the wedding breakfast to a scenic part of Kendal called Scouts Scar. It's an uphill walk which takes 10/15 minutes and we always questioned whether we would get the weather/time to do it. As we always say, the timing was just perfect- weather and all! We had the best hour up there with our photographer and videographer capturing the most amazing shots and footage! We are so grateful to our talented photographer James Hicks for suggesting this to us! It truly was unforgettable and the pictures are stunning!

Lastly, how did you find the process of selecting your wedding rings with us?
I am so lucky that Alan had already chosen Wongs to design and make my beautiful bespoke engagement ring! I know I already loved this and so it was an obvious choice for us to return for our wedding rings. Jenny was an absolute angel during the process and she truly got to know us and what we liked! Our bands are perfect and we absolutely love them! All our rings tell a gorgeous story of our journey too.
I was also lucky enough to be able to choose wedding jewellery at Wongs and Shauna helped me pick a gorgeous bracelet and earring set which truly complimented my elegant and timeless dress! I felt amazing in them and I am so grateful.
Thank you Wongs for helping make our wedding dreams come true!
