Merseyside Independent Business Of The Year is...Wongs Jewellers!
On Thursday, we had the honor of attending the incredible Merseyside Independent Business Awards, and we left as the overall winners!
What a wonderful evening we experienced at the MIB awards, established by Morecrofts solicitors. The MIB awards were created in 2013 to recognise and celebrate independents across the city region.
We started our night by winning the Retail Jewellers Inspiring Award for Marketing Maestro, with our directors, Peter and Cynthia, collecting the award in London. Meanwhile, some of our team members celebrated at the MIB awards in Liverpool.
The MIB awards night kicked off with our remarkable achievement of winning the Retailer of the Year award, which was an incredible honour that left us absolutely thrilled! Our award was sponsored by The Guide Liverpool.

We are thrilled to have been recognised for our marketing campaigns! This year we have enjoyed showcasing our Chinese New Year display, 'It's giving bridal' campaign and we are beyond excited to share our plans for Christmas!

Jenny showcased the beautiful 'Journey' Clatterbridge pendant! Every time you purchase a Clatterbridge pendant, £50 goes to the amazing hospital's charity. Jenny designed this gorgeous silver pendant after being treated at the Clatterbridge hospital for Sarcoma which is a rare form of cancer. Most recently, we donated £15,000 to give back to the fabulous hospital.
Katie wore the most fabulous trendy gold earrings. Stay trendy with the increasingly popular yellow gold tapered peg and clip earrings. How amazing does Katie look!
As the Liverpool Bid company are the headline sponsors, they announced us as the winners!
Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications at the Liverpool Bid, Katie Bentley, mentioned 'Judges said this business encapsulated everything on the checklist for an amazing independent' which was so lovely to hear.
She also says 'Their entry demonstrated excellent client care, approachability, engaging marketing campaigns and commitment to investment in the city region. Judges noted that the business in question has built a recognisable brand, while remaining local and offering its clients exceptional service.' After this speech, Katie then went on to announce us as the winners! We are over the moon at this news
With over 500 people at the awards ceremony at The Titanic Hotel Liverpool, we are so excited to have been recognised amongst so many incredibly inspiring independent businesses. We spent the night dancing away on the dance floor to celebrate our achievements.
