Healing Tips
Just got your ears pierced? Follow our tips to ensure a smooth healing process:
Keep Your Hands Clean: Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your ears or earrings.
6 Weeks for Earlobe Piercing: Keep the piercing earrings in for 6 weeks.
12 Weeks Cartilage Piercing: Keep the piercing earrings in for 12 weeks.
Cleaning Tips: Gently slide your earring back and forth while cleaning to help the solution reach inside your piercing.
Rotate 3 Times Per Day: Gently rotate your piercing earrings at least 3 times a day, ideally after applying your Ear Care Solution.
Be Careful When Brushing Your Hair: Be cautious not to catch your piercing earring when brushing your hair.
Watch Out for Irritants: Avoid irritating your piercing with products such as hair spray, shampoo, soap, perfume, or cosmetics. After using any of these, clean your piercing with your Ear Care Solution.
Avoid Any Potential Sunburn: Protect your piercing from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat. If sunscreen gets in your piercing, rinse with clean water and reapply your Ear Care Solution.
Protect Your Ears During Sports Activities: Athletes, check if you can protect a new piercing with a plaster or sports tape during games and practice before getting pierced. If not, plan to have your ears pierced in the off-season.

Wongs Jewellers allows up to two piercings on each ear per appointment, totaling four piercings (whether on the cartilage or lobe).
What jewellery will be used for my piercing?
We use Safety Back™ earrings, which are sterile, pre-sealed, and hypoallergenic. You can choose from gold, titanium, silver, and diamond studs, available in a variety of finishes, sizes, and prices.
What are the health and safety measures taken?
At Wongs Jewellers, your health and safety are our top priorities. Each customer's ear is cleaned and sanitised with a special solution, and our staff wear gloves for optimal hygiene. The Piercing System is completely sterile, with studs housed in individual cartridges inserted into a hand-pressured device. Our studio is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between customers.
Does getting your ears pierced hurt?
Ear piercings are generally the least painful type of body piercing, often feeling like a slight pinch. Our piercing earrings feature ultra-thin posts to minimise pain. If you experience discomfort, we recommend consulting your GP.
Do you accept drop-ins/walk-ins?
Yes, Wongs Jewellers accepts walk-in piercing appointments. You can visit the store anytime, but we recommend booking in advance to avoid waiting on busy days. To book your ear piercing, make an appointment online or call us at 0151 236 1552.
